Life Coaching

Can life coaching really help me reach my goals?
Life Coaching Offered by Dr. Kimberly D. Robbins, Clinical Psychologist, Westlake Village & Encino, CA
Working with a life coach is an investment in yourself and the legacy you can leave behind. When we have someone on our side to provide structure and focus through life’s daily challenges, it allows us to better understand the big picture and meet our broader goals. Coaching combines the discipline of counseling with the spirit and enthusiasm of social, cultural and philosophical exploration.

The benefits to life coaching are numerous, whether the issues you face revolve around personal or professional challenges, or simply stem from a desire to dream, grow and be a better person. Together we embark on the exciting journey of making your life rewarding and take joy in seeing the changes take shape.

Together, we customize an approach that most often includes:

Defining Goals
We take great care in defining goals for the issues we will address to set clear expectations and benchmarks for success.

Analyzing Skills, Strengths and Talents
We approach each session with a realistic assessment of an individuals abilities and skills in order to prioritize and pursue the path forward. This assessment allows us to see where any deficiencies exist and knock down those barriers with the ultimate goal of rectifying them in order to move forward.

Exploring Options
We examine all options in the steps ahead and conduct a risk analysis allowing us to find actionable and immediate steps to reach decisions with confidence and feel validated.

Taking Action
There comes a point in time when we just have to take the first step, whether or not we know where the staircase leads. Life Coaching helps remove the doubt and inertia that are often associated with this first step and it's here where we define a time frame for action. It's critical at this stage to have a sense of accountability to another in order to remain focused and on task.

Reassessing Progress
We learn from what has worked and what has not work to make better informed decisions moving forward on the path toward achieving success.

Like therapy, coaching is a collaborative relationship, however unlike therapy, coaching looks toward the future in terms of meeting goals, instead of a primary focus on the past for insight into feelings and behaviors. Life coaching is best undertaken by those who are motivated and looking forward to exacting true change in their lives.
